The structure of my project:
CRM Overview
- Definition
- Typical components
- History of CRM
- General uses in the business world
- Ways CRM can be applied to academic libraries (serials, liaisons, reserves, etc)
- Advantages: cloud platform, easy access, cost (opensource CRM=free) no central human node of information, common organizational structure, easy transfer of information
- Disadvantages: practical considerations such as cost (commercial CRM = expensive), system maintenance, negatives of cloud computing, no one-size-fits-all CRM: each organization has to find their own best fit (not necessary with things like spreadsheets, databases, or text documents)
- Use in datamining/bibliomining
- OLAPs
For my demonstration, I am going to show the CRM I use at work along with another opensource CRM software I've found, and I will briefly go over the pluses and minuses of using CRM in an academic library.
